Our team at Metropolis has been hard at work testing out the latest nail trends and here is the first post in our investigative series.

For our first foray into the nail arena, we tested the caviar aka pearl nail trend – think nails with sprinkles.

We got our kit from Claire’s which included a base coat colour, a bottle of glass pearls and a little funnel to neatly put the runaway beads back into the bottle for future use.

Three of our staffers took on the challenge and embraced the pearl nail trend to varying degrees. One staff member tried the look on her entire hand, while another used the pink base coat on her hand with one finger featuring the pearls and the last of the testers used a different base coat and only featured pearls on one finger.

We found that doing the entire hand looked a bit too over the top for a day to day look but the “feature” finger looked fun and fresh when paired with the hot pink fingers.

Overall the kit was a success and a very affordable way ($11.50 for the kit!) to change up your look for a night out or to add some pizzazz to your wardrobe.
