Metropolis at Metrotown is committed to enhancing the lives of the people in our community. Each year, we donate nearly $1-million to charities through cash and in-kind donations.
Registered non-profit organizations can now apply for cash donations made possible by the Metropolis Express, a trackless train that runs through the corridors of Metropolis. The Metropolis Express is entirely funded by Metropolis at Metrotown and rides are offered by donation to charity.
Please review the community investment criteria below to ensure your organization meets our requirements for funding. Because we receive far more requests than we are able to fulfill, funding is not guaranteed. Each case will be reviewed individually based on the application form.
 
TO BE ELIGIBLE, YOU MUST:
1. Be Burnaby-based and demostrate a significant and unique contribution to community life.
2. Be "grassroots" (i.e., the money would make a significant impact on their operations.)
3. Not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, creed, religion or sexual orientation.
4. Be a registered non-profit organization.
5. Have defined goals and objectives.
 
ORGANIZATIONS AND PROJECTS THAT ARE INELIGIBLE FOR THESE FUNDS ARE:
1. Religious or political organizations
2. Individuals
3. For profit organizations
4. Endowments
5. Debt-reduction campaigns
