Code of Conduct

Metropolis at Metrotown — including its interior areas, roadways, and parking lots — is private property.

All visitors are expected to behave in a respectful and responsible manner. The following behaviours are not permitted and may result in eviction, banning from the property, and/or involvement of law enforcement:

  • Violence, harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour, including physical force, threats, obscene language or gestures, racial, religious, or ethnic slurs, fighting, stalking, staring, boisterous conduct, or sexually explicit language or actions.
  • Running, skating, skateboarding, cycling, or use of recreational motorized devices (e.g., hoverboards, motorized skateboards) anywhere on mall property, except approved mobility aids.
  • Obstructing store windows or tenant displays.
  • Loitering or remaining on the property without legitimate purpose.
  • Assembling for unlawful purposes or disturbing the peace.
  • Littering, spitting, or improper disposal of waste outside of designated receptacles.
  • Damaging, defacing, or vandalizing property, including graffiti or intentional damage to mall, tenant, or patron property.
  • Bringing animals into the mall, except for service animals as defined by the Guide Dog and Service Dog Act and/or BC Human Rights Code.
  • Excessive noise, including yelling, loud music, amplified sound, or other disturbances impacting patrons.
  • Non-commercial expressive activity without prior written approval from Property Management.
  • Soliciting, distributing materials, or offering samples without prior written approval from Property Management.
  • Improper attire, including not wearing shoes or clothing.
  • Touching or sitting on mall structures, including floors, planters, handrails, stairs, trash receptacles, kiosks, displays, or decorative features.
  • Possession or consumption of open alcohol is prohibited.
  • Photography or videography without prior written approval from Property Management.
  • Smoking or vaping of any kind, including electronic cigarettes, inside the mall. Smoking is permitted only in designated exterior areas at least 9 metres from entrances.
  • Cannabis use in any form anywhere on the property, indoors or outdoors.
  • Possession of firearms, weapons, OC spray, or mace, whether concealed or visible, may result in immediate law-enforcement involvement.
  • Improper use of parking areas, which are reserved for customers while on-site. No overnight parking. Violations may result in ticketing or towing.
  • Engaging in any unlawful activity or behaviour.

Safety & Monitoring

  • CCTV video surveillance is in use throughout the property for safety and security purposes.

Enforcement

  • Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in being asked to leave the property.
  • Refusal to leave when requested may result in arrest and prosecution for Criminal Trespass.
  • Repeated or serious violations may result in a permanent ban from Metropolis at Metrotown.
