Turn unwanted gift cards into something you’ll love! Trade It Up Metrotown lets you exchange eligible gift cards for a Metropolis at Metrotown Gift Card. Perfect for shopping, dining, and experiences across the mall.

  • Date: January 7, 2026
  • Time: 8:00 AM until sold out
  • Location: Grand Court, Metropolis at Metrotown

The campaign will run until $20,000 in gift card value has been collected. Arrive early—quantities are limited!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  1. Bring your eligible gift card to the Grand Court.
  2. Up to 4 cards’ balance will be validated. 
  3. Receive a Metropolis at Metrotown Gift Card of equal value (up to $250 per guest).

All exchanged gift cards will be donated to Burnaby Neighbourhood House, supporting the local community.

 

ELIGIBLE GIFT CARDS 

An eligible gift card must meet all of the following criteria: 

  • Be usable in British Columbia 
  • Have a balance that can be verified immediately 
  • Be verifiable by phone or online 
  • Have no scratched verification seals 
  • Limit of 4 gift cards per guest 

  

INELIGIBLE GIFT CARDS 

The following will not be accepted: 

  • Cards validated only with a paper receipt 
  • Cards requiring in-store or personal account verification (e.g., Home Depot) 
  • Cards with scratched verification seals 
  • Cards that require registration, like DoorDash or PlayStation 
  • Cards valued under $25 
  • Paper certificates or printed gift cards 

  

EVENT LIMITS & RESTRICTIONS 

  • Maximum return value per participant: $250.00 
  • Participants may submit gift cards exceeding $250.00 in total value; however, they will receive a maximum of $250.00 in Metropolis at Metrotown Gift Cards 
  • Eligible gift cards are rounded up to the nearest dollar 

Example: A gift card with a balance of $34.14 will be exchanged for a $35.00 Metropolis at Metrotown Gift Card.

  • Enjoy flexible spending across hundreds of retailers and restaurants 
  • Support the community through a charitable donation to Burnaby Neighbourhood House 

Quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Arrive early to avoid disappointment. 

  

EVENT PERIOD  

The Event will begin January 7, 2026 and end when twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) has been collected.
