Does the MET Gift Card expire? 

• No, MET Gift Card has no expiration date. The funds on a MET Gift Card does not expire.
• However, the plastic card expires. Upon the plastic expiration, contact Guest Services to have the funds transferred to a new card.

Can I trade in my old MET Gift Cards (AMEX) for a new MET Gift Card (VISA)?

• No, we are only accepting Gift Cards from other merchants that is not MET.

Which stores accepts/ don’t accept MET Gift Card?

Where do the collected Gift Cards go? 

• To be donated to Burnaby Neighborhood House

What will the charity do with the Gift Cards? 

• Fund raising to support Burnaby Neighborhood House

When are the busiest periods?

• Some shoppers start lining up before opening

Why is MET running this event? 

• We are running this event to support the Burnaby community and to provide options to our shoppers so that they can trade in their unwanted Gift Cards and shop at Metropolis at Metrotown

How often will MET run this event?  

• Once a year at this time every year, if the event repeats

When does the event end? 

• When we have depleted the allotted budget ($20k)

How to shorten the wait time?  

• It would be super helpful if your cards could be verified prior to arriving at the event to rule out cards that are not eligible and cards that cannot be verified over the phone/ online are identified.

How many cards can I trade?

• We can only verify up to 4 cards per eligible participant
• Only cards with a balance of $25 or more will be accepted
• Each participant can receive up to $250 in return

What is the eligible age to participate?

• Participant must be 19 years or older
